Karen Dunne

Yoga Instructor

Karen has been doing yoga her whole life.  She only began attending formal classes about 7 years ago.  The system of Tibetan style yoga is one she found very thorough; in that it works every muscle and organ in the body – squeezing out toxins and aligning the spine.  She had scoliosis  in her upper spine which was interfering with her breathing, and after two and a half years of this style, her spine was corrected. She has been teaching this system for 5 years.  Before formal yoga classes, Karen was an avid swimmer and hiker (and still is).  She has 4 boys which she has home schooled joyfully up to high school.  Her oldest, Jordan is married and living on the east coast, Shane is currently at Tenn. Tech and will graduate in May, Weston is at MTSU majoring in international business, and Casey will be attending EMT school this fall.   She is a certified yoga therapist from her former teacher, and certified instructor through Yoga Steps.  She is certified in pre natal, and senior classes as well.  She is a school teacher k-8th grade, a counselor, and does home health care.  Karen loves to share yoga with others, and does private lessons in homes and offices.  ” The best part  of teaching is seeing their hearts, minds and spirits become  interwoven with love, compassion and peace, unfolding into the beautiful human beings they truly are inside!  Nolensville is my home, and I want to bring yoga and the arts to the community, creating an atmosphere of refuge, laughter and family.”  She looks forward to growing old here in Nolensville and practicing yoga for the rest of her days!
